Stamps of Persia/Iran.

     On a cold morning in California I hit the web in search of my hobby; stamps. The stamps of Persia. I lived there as a child with my parents. Dad had a contract to work there  but this whole thing about the Shah, riots and marshal law caused the family to head to the airport and get 'out of country' in a hurry. Many years later my hobby of choice took hold and I chose Persia/IRAN stamps to collect and eventually to sell. You know buy low sell high type of angle.

An area I dove into the deepest are the many fakes/fraudulent stamps of Iran. As I grew as a philiteist, both in knowledge and stamps,  I quickly learned that fraudulent stamps have one purpose behind them: to steal your hard earned money. Just give me your money and I give you a piece of paper that is nice to look at, but worth nothing in return. As an example, here is a pair of stamps offered for sale on a very large website:

A nice looking pair of stamps with post mark's I might point out. The problem is, these were made in Hungry around 1881. They were never issued for postage to be used. Merely little piece's of paper to look at. And now for the reverse:

Talk about some beat up stamps. We have huge hinges hanging off them as well as stains and what not. The rust seen on these is also an indication of quality. A few 'soft perfs' on many sides, several pulled perfs makes this pair of stamps not desirable. 

So, if you were to buy this pair of stamps, they have fake post marks, huge hinges and appear to be in terrible shape...quality counts when trying to resale stamps.
